Anthony and I met Brett & Debbie with their two beautiful children on the last leg of our honeymoon in 2007. We only got to share one night with them, but one night that remains etched in our hearts. Brett was a truly amazing person, a real family man who loved his family. His love for music, life, travel, he was full of wisdom. Although we live in Ireland, Brett will be truly missed. xxx

Unusually for Me I am lost for words ,but a couple of poems spring to mind. for Brett:- Not, how did he die, but how did he live? Not, what did he gain, but what did he give? These are the units to measure the worth Of a man as a man, regardless of his birth. Nor what was his church, nor what was his creed? But had he befriended those really in need? Was he ever ready, with words of good cheer, To bring back a smile, to banish a tear? Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say, But how many were sorry when he passed away? for Debbie:- your life is your life don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission. be on the watch. there are ways out. there is a light somewhere. it may not be much light but it beats the darkness. be on the watch. the gods will offer you chances. know them. take them. you can’t beat death but you can beat death in life, sometimes. and the more often you learn to do it, the more light there will be. your life is your life. know it while you have it. you are marvelous the gods wait to delight in you.

My Dearest Debbie, I was thinking only the other day of you both and the wonderful memories I have of the times I sent with you guys in Lanecove. This truly is such sad news. I can not believe this news. It is so very, very sad. Brett is a guy that I will always remember as charismatic and very funny. I have endless memories of him and my brother laughing and of him making me laugh. He was my brother's best friend. I also remeber when he first dated Debbie. Brett thought she was wonderful. He was totally smitten. I thought it was lovely to hear they eventually married and had two beautiful children. My heart goes out to you all. He will be dearly missed. My heart felt and deepest sympathies to all who loved him and miss him.
