When I first met Bruce in June 1969, I said to my friend " who is that Guy?" "That's Dr Storey." "I know his name, but he's like a leech, everytime I turn aroud, he's there, asking questions & checking up on me." "No he's not, he's picking your brain. He knows you came back to take over the job as Supervisor of Nurseries." " Well that's one thing more than me he knows."
Elizabeth.

The Doctors & Nurses who worked with Bruce Storey & all of those who did not will be greatful for his contribution to the care of the Sick & Premature Newborn. While he drove us to distraction many times there is no queation that he was a great teacher & if you were lucky he was a wonderful friend. Elizabeth Mackinnon. " Sister Suppa Mac". Past Supervisor or Nurseries, KGV, RPAH & Director of Medical Nursing RPAH.

Bruce was a wonderful ally when the Postgraduate Medical Council of NSW was being set up around 1988. The PMC is now the Institute of Medical Education and Training. Many hospital based doctors were suspicious that they were being ordered to work harder on the education and training of junior doctors when they were already feeling overworked and under-appreciated. We held meetings to try to encourage them to come on board and act as Directors of Clinical Training (DCTs), and it was Bruce whose enthusiasm and encouragement helped to bridge the divide between the PMC initiators and those who would be responsible to make the education and training programs work on the ground. He continued to provide warm "can do" messages to colleagues whenever we held DCT meetings. With other loyal supporters, he helped us to achieve lift-off.
