When I met Daphne only a few years ago I was amazed at her beautiful garden. A little out of control by that time, it was nonetheless a tribute to her love of the natural world. And like her it was both ordered where it had to be (in front or the house) and quirky and creative elsewhere. There were hidden nooks and riotous flowerings. She obviously got great enjoyment from it, and I'm sure it gave pleasure to her family and friends. It certainly did to me. One day she took me and my daughter to the Rhodendrom gardens, and once again I felt her love of the beauty in nature. She loved Australia but she also had a special affection for England, which I shared with her. Talking with Daphne was always stimulating - and sometimes a little bracing!. She was a great woman, and a firm defender of her dear Dad's memory. I shall always remember her with affection. Terry Irving

She was brave, she was scared, she was strong and fragile. She was bright, intelligent and could be incredibly shy and insecure. She was my mum. She has always been there, the gap in my life is huge. She did it "Her Way". all my love,
