To my dear friend David, The english language can only take me so far in expressing how blessed I feel to have had you in my life. I could write in a vietnamese accent perhaps I would stand a better chance, however I will reserve it for my silent conversations with you. In life, you showed all who knew you, love and respect without passing judgement. You embraced life with laughter and love, for your family, friends and your beautiful wife and my friend An. I will always remember your stories and jokes, I will always remember your words of wisdom when you yourself were dealing with things much bigger than life, I will always remember your passion for protecting the ones you love and most of all I will always remember your cheeky grin particularly when paying out on An - one of your favourite pass times :) I hope I get the opportunity to meet you again somewhere. Until then I will miss you, your verbal stirrings, our more sincere conversations and forever will you eternal peace. Love you David To my dear friend An, There are no words, unless again I adopt a vietnamese accent. Alas, no amount of words can ease the pain in any language. Just know that you are surrounded by love, that of your families and friends. Know that there are so many people that love David, think of him each day both in sadness and with joy in remembering the funny moments (and there were many), and praying for peace and solice for David, you and the family. Always here for you and with you. Your friend Christie

Its taken me a fair few weeks to work up the courage to write such irrelevant words to describe such a significant man who I love more than life. For all of you who knew David, knew that he loved life, loved to laugh and first and foremost loved. Throughout the last six months of his life, David never admitted defeat to that wretched monster that finally took his life. He fought for five and a half long years and never once complained of his pain, worry or inner sorrow. Towards the end, the only sign of distress he ever said to me was that he wasn't afraid of death, his only worry was that I or his beloved mother, father and brother would suffer through the pain of his passing. There hasnt been a minute let alone one second of day through the last 7 weeks that he hasnt been on my mind and empty heart. I dont know how one recovers from such a loss. Not only have I lost an amazing amazing amazing husband and friend, his parents lost such a wonderful son and Anthony lost his adored little brother. Its not fair, someone so young with so much to live for to be taken from his loved ones so early ,so I can only imagine that the man upstairs has far greater plans for David in heaven than the life he lived here on earth. God bless you David and I hope you hold onto all the precious happy memories that I hold onto as my salvation. I miss you more and more everyday and will love you forever.\ Your wife An

Not only was David an amazing husband to a beautiful woman in An, he was an amazing son, brother and friend. Always protecting those around him, he refused to to be defeated in front of his beautiful mother Josie, thinking of others before all else. David touched all those in his life - those he knew all his life, and those he knew for a short time. The turn out to his memorial is testimony to that, a church more packed to the rafters there has not been. Perhaps sometimes having wrong taste in football teams (!!!) David got it right when it came to politics - and was one of the few people who could tolerate an evening conversing with me about Politics, Cars, and swapping sad sad sad jokes - evidence of his Saintly patience and diplomacy. We will all miss David with all our hearts & souls. He is constantly in our prayers to our Lord, and I ask the intercession of the Blessed Mother and all Saints daily for him, and for his wonderful family. David: rest assured your loved ones are being cared for. Your family have all the love possible on this Earth - and your gorgeous An is such a strong, resilient woman. I would tell you that we are looking out for her, though I know you don't need us to! She is strong enough - and you yourself keep a watchful eye over her (and her spending!). Bless you David, may the Lord grant you eternal rest in his Heavenly Kingdom. Your friend, Misha

I worked with David for a while at Tynan Motors. It's realistic to say that most people that you work with on a daily basis, especially in a large organisation are just work colleagues. On a few occassions you meet someone different, someone you really like, admire, trust and enjoy spending time or talking with. David was one of those types of people to me, we didn't socialise outside of work but we were definitely friends. David was funny, charismatic and just plain lovely...he always openly spoke about his love of family and for his beautiful wife. David will be missed by many and my thoughts and prayers are with David's wife, friends and family xoxo
