I am not sure how to describe how I feel about Don not being with us anymore. I looked up to him and learned from him interms of how to be a true gentleman and a kind person. I am sure next time I am at the club my eyes will wonder around to find him until I sadly remember that I can't.....I will miss him a lot. My deepest sympathies to Don's family. Omer Konakci
Lovely memories of our dear nephew Donald. His life has touched so many. The world is a better place because of his contribution and influence. Our deepest sympathy and love to Shirley and the family. Colin and Norma Leggett, Peter,David and Judi.
Don was a true gentleman. He was always ready with a warm greeting or a helpful comment even when he did not have the time to spare. He led from the front and would frequently put us younger guys to shame with his energy and selfless attitude. Farewell Don and thanks for the memories. May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows your dead. Slan a chairde.
Don was an incomparable friend, a leader and somebody who contributed so much to the sailing community and to all of us who have had the honour and pleasure to have known him. There is not enough space here to enumerate the contributions that Don made to Double Bay Sailing Club. Don's unflagging energy, his commitment to sailing and helping sailors (DBSC, the 18 Footers and many others), his own sailing achievements, his intelligence, wit, sense of humour, musical turn, and a thousand other outstanding qualities mean that his passing is deeply felt by all of us. Don was a truly loving husband, father and grandfather. Our deepest sympathies go to all of Don's family Don Roach will be sorely missed.
