Our Prayers and Sincere Sympathy are with You & your Family. I remember in the Mid 60's Fred & Yvette coming to our farm, at Donald & Sylvia Luthers on a nice summer Sunday visit. It was always fun when they came out, Fred like to play cards, I cann't remember exactly what they played (Hearts) but I always remember Fred was very good at it. As you all know he was very good with numbers and had a excellant memory. Way to go Uncle Fred, My Son Benjamin is currently in the Air Force. I didn't remember You were so active in the armed forces. My hat is off to You Uncle Fred. Deepest Heart Felt Sympathy:

My Dad was patient, kind, caring and loving. He always encouraged me to take new challenges in life and he believed in me. I remember working in the back yard with him in his vegetable garden. He grew carrots, potatoes, lettuce, onions, rhubarb, strawberries and raspberries; all our summer veggies home grown! His life growing up on the farm taught him about how to read the clouds to predict the weather because " you can never trust the weatherman". To this day I think of him when I see a rain storm coming across the ocean or when I see a beautiful sunset or when I cut my roses. He would have loved my rose garden! Oh, Dad, I miss you so much! But I take comfort that you are with Our Lord in your new heavenly home and you are probably working in your new celestial garden! I love you! Kathleen

Fred was my father-in-law since 12-15-73 when I married his daughter, Kathleen. I had known him as a fellow businessman in Moorhead since 1963. We attended the same church and other community organizations. He has been like a father to me since I lost my dad in 1977 when he was only 62. I admired Fred and how his family was so important to him! He and Yvette were married 68 years and truly in love all these years thru the ups and downs of life! He had two daughters: Melaine and Kathleen and two sons: Mark and Jeff. They took annual planned family vacations when growing up and family gatherings throughout life. I always admired that. Fred did everything to be a good example to his children and their children and their children! Fred was my hero in many ways especially as a World War II Omaha Beach Survivor! Years later, Kathleen read me his journal from the War and I was even more impressed! I had lived thru this war as a child with eight uncles in the war who all made it home alive in one piece. I have tried to treat my three sons-in-law as Fred treated me: with respect and love. Fred was at peace with his God and lived fully each day. He was loving and kind with all the people he came in contact with. He was truly a prince of a man! Fred you will be missed and I will long remember what you taught me by your words and example. May you spend eternity with Our Lord and with Yvette! We will all join you one day in the future! Thank you for everything! Dr. Joseph Zbacnik

My dad was my role model. Worked on the family farm until 21 years of age, after losing his father to illness at age 9, and survived the Great Depression. Proudly served his country in war and survived battles against heavy odds. Provided for his family and taught his children right from wrong. Celebrated wedding anniversaries with mom 68 years running. Fred helped define the "greatest generation."
