I first met Gary in 1965 when he was a student at Marist Brothers Maitland and i was a boarder at Dominican Convent Maitland. When Gary arrived at OLOR as Deputy Principal of my daughters school he reminded me that he and I had been dancing partners at the Friday night dances between both schools. We had a good laugh over that one.In the various roles my husband and i were involved in at OLOR Gary was an amazing support. My daughters remember him as a kind and caring teacher.Vale Gary we are all poorer for your passing..Our deepest Sympathy to your family and friends.

Words cannot express the sadness that the Holy Trinity Community is feeling at the moment. Mr Kerr you will be missed you are A Genuine and True Gentleman, a friend, a teacher and now an Angel in Heaven Your loss has created emptiness in every ones heart that has not been felt in a very long time. You will be missed but we know you will be one of Gods angels looking down on the school from above. You created a modern age school that you didn’t get to see finished. Your love for the children was second to none treating each as your own and taking them under your wing whenever there was an issue you would work with the child to help them through it never treating anyone with disrespect always showing compassion towards them. The effect you had on the teachers has not been seen here for a very long time this showed on their faces on Friday morning when they had found out that they had lost a best friend tears flowed and they had lumps in their throats they were in total shock but carried on their duty the way you had done through out the year even during your illness Gary your infectious smile will be missed by all you were a genuine gentleman. May you Rest in Peace your students Chloe, Joshua and Brandon Zaiter

Gary was a wonderful role model to me as a teacher and family man. In my interactions with Gary and watching him with others was that he always made time for everyone and enjoyed getting to know people. Building relationships was the key to building strong communities. But 'no man is an island' and Gary was not Gary without Jude. The love, care and friendship you show to one another is something we all aspire to. You have always both been full of encouragement for me and my family. Thank you for letting us be part of your lives. Love Stephen

I have many memories of Gary as our school prinicipal at St Anthony's. What a wonderful, genuine and caring man. My first year 2001 as a St anthony's parent, at our annual Spring fair Gary was invited up to spin the chocolate wheel for the best prize of the day, a signed Parramatta jersey. Gary spun that wheel and my number came up! Gary looked at me and said with that huge grin " you owe me Mrs Bayssari" and we laughed. Another time was when he came back to St Anthony's for one term in 2007, when he was introduced at Monday morning assembly, he came out of that office door to cheers, applause, tears and hugs it was so wonderful to have him back. The night of the Spring Fair 2007, when Gary knew alot of us parents would be listening to him on the radio and he spoke of us, and played about 5 songs in a row for us, we were all chufted!. Gary, rest in eternal peace, Heaven would have a special place for someone as special as you. To Gary's family, my heart felt condolences for your incredible loss, may it bring you some comfort to know that Gary was truly loved and respected by all that knew him, he will be sadly missed.

Gary will always hold a special place in my heart. He is a true gentleman, a wonderful, caring, gentle, friendly man who always gave his time to others. To work for him was a privilege and he shaped me not only as a teacher but as a person. I have many fantastic memories of him and have always been honoured to call him my friend. My thoughts and prayers are with Jude, David, Michael, Catherine, Stephen and Muriel. Be proud of Gary. He has touched many people's lives and you all are a wonderful reflection of his love.

Gary, a man of integrity, courage, humour, justice, loyalty, dedication and friendship.Gary was a great person to be around. He had an earthy humour and practical common sense. He was fine educator and leader and was generous in sharing his gifts. For me he was a wise and loyal friend and colleague and a significant person in my own life's journey. I treasure the time I had with him and his wife Jude. and am grateful to them both for their friendship. I pray his qualities will live on in his children and in those whose lives he touched. May we all find inspiration and peace from the special person he was.

My memory is the first day of Kindergarten for our son James back in 2001, St Anthonys Primary School, it was pouring with rain and Gary on the microphone welcoming all new kindy's and parents to the school, that started a friendship with Gary that will live on forever. May God Bless him as we keep him and his family in our Prayers. You may be gone Gary but you will never ever be forgotten. The Picman Family
