I was so shocked and sadden by the news of Ishmeet's death. He was highly admored for his noble and innocent and wonderful voice he had - he was a a very placid,cool and calm young man. My family watched V.O,I religiously every week when it was aired in the UK. We miss you and our condolence goes out to your families especially your immediate family. I along with my family was shocked to know the sudden demise of Ishmeet Singh, the first Voice of India. Ishmeet Singh's demise is not only a loss to his family but a great loss to Indian music industry as well. He was really a great singer with great heart. It is hard to digest that Ishmeet Singh could drown in a hotel swimming pool in the presence of other people. It is not only unfortunate but also shameful for the hotel administration. The truth will come out sooner or later. However, Ishmeet Singh will not return. Although the ill fate had snatched him from us, his music lovers, he will remain in our hearts. I watched the 8 pm news that night and saw him in the airport which was his last moments captured. I'm deeply sad because he was my favorite contestant from VOI. His voice so gentle and peaceful. I watched Ishmeet during the VOI show and again while participating in the JJWS. One thing that always struck me about him was the 'noor' (the Angelic light) on his countenance. Serene and calm, he was a picture of poise & dignity - standing out within a crowd of competitors. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that when Ishmeet smiled one of his 'flashy' smiles, the world smiled with him. As we say in Arabic: "Inna Lillahe Wa Inna Ilaihe Raajaoon" - he who came from God has gone back to God. I pray to the Creator to give his parents the strength and courage to bear this pain.
