John was always stopping me from destroying my stuff when I was pissed; stopped me from fighting my dad stopping me from fighting someone, stopping me from getting my ass kicked by someone. I remember trying to bench press 100 lbs when I was 14, when I couldn't; he lifted it for me and told me I did it, what a spotter. I remember walking to his house and playing tecmo bowl, because he had to be home at 9p.m. I'm still playing video games John, still getting my ass kicked, still getting pissed off. HEKK OF A GUY; NO HELL OF A GUY. It is the worlds loss. I haven't talked to you in a while John, you used to tell me not to do anything stupid, I probaby will John. RIP

I knew John for 16 yrs, from the time I was 16. He was sweet as pie. I remember Penny told me I was to old to hang around her son. In the past couple of yrs I recently worked with Penny at Thurman Francis. I came into work one day and John was sitting out in the car. I stood there and talked to him for a few mins. He had 2 of his babies with him. Said he was waiting on his mom. That's when he told me Penny was his mom. After she came back from break she came to me joking about the past. I thought it was funny. This is a small world. I wish it would have been bigger so we could have seen this coming to try and prevent it.........Lots of tears and love

First whoever started this thank you so much! Thanks to all the entries of AWESOME memories and words. What can i say, he was another stinkin boy. I have/had SIx brothers. I did not realize deep down the heart john had. he had a heart of gold and his only sis did not even realize that. I miss him dearly though and I wish I wouldve done more. He will be in my heart the rest of my days. Again, thank you all

I knew John what seems like all my life. Like David I played ball with John from T-Ball all the way to Babe Ruth. I even played football with him in High School and like Chad was saying with me being smaller than everyone else on the team John never gave me a hard time like some others. I believe it was 6th grade and me and John had the same class and during recess another student was picking on me for whatever reason and John was the one who stood up for me. We went to Florida together for a school trip in 6th grade as well and on the trip home I got sick and he sat with me afterwards and talked me out of my embarassment. That's just the kind of person he was and to know that I wasn't the only one he did that kind of thing for just goes to prove that. I lost touch with him after High School like so many people do and randomly ran into him about a year and a half ago. He asked how I was doing because he actually cared and you could see that in his eyes. I told him that I had just opened my restaurant and he made it his cause to help keep my doors open. He was one of my first regular customers. He would come in with friends and family to try and turn them on to my food. I'll be forever greatful for all of the things he did for me through the years and I will miss him dearly. There are so few good people in this world and now we have one less. R.I.P. John.

My first memory of John was when me and my kids moved to Tennessee in 2000 from Wyoming to live with Troy. He and Amy came to our apartment and brought their oldest daughter Kaylee, I just kew when I met them that they were really cool people to hang out with. I has been a while since I have seen him but not a moment has gone by that I have not thought about him and the girls. I am just so heat broken right not.

I remember, like David, what a great competitor and ball player Jon was. When we went on a trip to Chattanooga one year for sportsfest, Jon was part of the team. We were all in the pool and as usual I was getting picked on, because then I was still smaller than everyone else. Well at one point I got really mad. Jon saw this and stopped the others from dunking me in the pool and bothering me. I really appreciated that. My father also thought highly of Jon, he always loved the respect he gave the coaches and he went out and did his job on the field, no complaints. Or at least he saved them until he was away from the field, because I don't remember hearing anything negative from him. May your soul rest in the heart of God, Jon Wesley Rolett. May you find love and peace that will soothe the troubled hearts that miss you here on Earth.

I hadn't seen John since high school, and he found me on myspace sometime last year. Our friendship picked up right where it left off... He came to our church and brought his girls to meet my girls. The first thing he did was give me a big hug. He's one of those friends you never want to lose. He's going to be missed- not only by friends, but by daughters who adored him.

I grew up with John my mother watched Grant when we were kids. As far back as I can remember he was always around. He made me smile , and his laughter will always be heard no matter how far away he is. At the lunch table in High School he was always making us laugh with his goofy impressions and jokes. He was a friend that I knew I could always look to for a shoulder to cry on. I haven't seen John in years and a couple of months ago I was having a bad day. John wrote me and ask if I was OK or needed someone to talk to. It was little things about John that made he so loved. He will be missed dearly, and his love will go on the hearts of his little girls. Love you John and I will miss you my friend!

I played baseball with John for years. We were teammates on the high school team, various all-star teams through the years and I even remember playing against him as far back as T-ball when he played for the Tigers. He always stood out as a very talented ball player - I remember in T-ball I was glad I played shortstop when we played the Tigers...because John was left handed and hit the ball HARD to the right side of the infield. He was a fierce competitor and someone I was always glad to have on our side when were teammates. If I could have hand-picked a team from Smyrna to take anywhere, you can bet John would have been on it.

Ive known John since we were 13 yrs old. His laugh. I can hear his laughter inside of my head even as I type this. He was a huge goofball. And he felt deeply... John, Amy, Trever & I moved into our 1st place together when we were 18 yrs old. We were young, excited & looking forward to the future. He was a good guy. The last time I saw him was about a yr ago. He sat next to me on the couch. And we talked about God. He was hurting... You were loved, John. You really were. And Im sorry. Im so so sorry.

I have so many memories that I shared with John. I guess my favorite would be the first time I met little Gracie. She came over with John & DJ. While sitting in my lap, I said "you like Daddy?" she said "Oh, ummhmm..I jump on him belly!" That shows what kind of little person John created. Laughter & love surrounded him. We miss you already, man.
