my name is kim haralson, i did not know your daughter but she was a beautiful girl. i have a daughter her age, who is in college in carrollton and when i heard of your tragedy, it just sent a chill through me. to think that there is some type of animal out there that would take such a beautiful person from this earth as your daughter. my sincere sympathy is with you and my prayers are with you and your family. there is no punishment good enought for the animal that did this to your child, and when he is caught i hope his remaining days on earth will be pure hell. i know it sounds horrible for me to say this, but that is how i feel and one day he will face his final judgement when he stands before god. may god give you strenght to continue living as hard as it maybe, but just know that your daughter is in a better place and she can know be your guardian angel. if there is anything i can do for you, do not hestitate to email me. i live about an hour and a half from auburn. if you need a place to stay or just someone to talk to email me and i will give you my phone number. again may god be with you and keep you in his grace. i will continue to pray for you.

Lauren was one of the sweetest girls i have ever met. I was so little when I met Lauren yet I still remember her smile that lit up a whole entire room. She made us all smile even if things were wrong. I loved Lauren so much. Everyone at Snowy Owl Camp loved her sincerley. I pray for her and her family everyday now. I am sure she lived a happy life. Burk (as us laxers knew her) was always smiling at every practice. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. My freshman year, she always offered me rides after practice, and we would have a blast singing our hearts out in her car. All the memories I have with Burk only make me smile. We had a great time traveling to Spain last year, and she and sean were inseperable : ). Her kind heartt was shown by her generosity- she did not have a mean bone in her body! She will truly be missed. I am so lucky to have had her in my life. They moments I shared with her were blessings

All of high school, I would walk into homeroom and see Lauren smiling. She was one of those people whose smile could make a day seem better.

I didn't know Lauren either; I saw the story on the news last night. Knowing she was a Delta Gamma tells me she was a beautiful person inside and out. Lauren, even though we did not talk much in high school, you always had a smile and a kind word to share with me. You went out of your way to say hello to me in the hall, and you brought joy to those around you. I will always cherish the friendship we had in middle school. Even you being at my 12th birthday made my life that much brighter. It was an honor to know you, and my thoughts and prayers go out to the Burk family.

My heart is heavy, my mind cannot understand the world today. Another family has lost their Baby. The fear of evey parent we know has come true for these parents and I cannot imagine how they will ever get up in the morning, have a cup of coffee, read the paper, have dinner or go to a movie or family bbq ever again. Has anyone thought about contacting a psychic? There is one in Mobile, AL, her name is Carol Pate. She has solved many, many crimes with her abilities. This is the 2nd girl to have this happen to her in this area. I am personally sick of things like this, and I am sure this is a feeling we all share. Lauren's tragic loss of life should NOT go unpunished. God be with you all during this time. And GOD HELP the animal who can do this to a young, innocent girl.

The horrible person who did this will be brought to justice and we all need to take this as a lesson that we are not guaranteed tomorrow... such a hard thing to realize. Who would have to know this young girl to be affected by her senseless, tragic death. I was sickened to hear about this, I was in the same area at the time of her death and I never saw anything out of the ordinary. I just shows you, evil lurks on every corner, where we least expect it. I pray that God will be the guiding strength for her family, friends and sorority sisters through it all.

Lauren you were such an AMAZING girl! you were so open to making new friends and im so glad that we became friends! Your spirit is just so up lifting and you always have a smile on your face! i remember the time we went to Momma G's at 2 in the morning and had so much fun! Sean fell down a couple of times, but it was all a memory to last a lifetime! Oh.. and running for the bus to pick us up! lol.. we ran the whole way and the bus just passed right by us and picked Ashley up first!.. so we had to run all the way back! lol.. you are so beautiful in so many ways and i only wish God has made you a beautiful angle in heaven! you will be greatly missed and i hope that God had healed you wounds and will heal the wounds of others that feel your loss!!! But I guess the things that stand out the most were art class with you, sneaking into the boys bathroom on the last day of school and taking pictures, going to six flags, and meeting up with you at waterford. there is not a single bad thing that can be said about you lauren. rest in peace, and we will all miss you until we see you in heaven. we love you.

Lauren was just a genuine, sweet, kind, and selfless girl. She truly cared for others and was very happy. I will miss her smiling face.

I knew Lauren from Camp Snowy Owl, she was always so much fun and such a wonderful person. She has a beautiful heart and soul. I had such great times iwth you lauren, singing before we went to bed, bunk clean up, it was one of the best summers I had. I am so greatful to know you and spend that time with you. much love to you, Lauren, and your family, I know you are watching over us.

I remember when she worked at Coldstone and I used to go over there and try to talk to her because I thought she was really cute..I knew her through several of her friends and knew only that her beautiful smile and bright personality was something that you didnt see every day. She even gave me free ice cream! RIP --- Nobody can understand necessarily what happened here, and we are all moved and saddened by it. But I know that if there is a better place in this world or the next, you are there.

My mom and I went to NYC this past December and when we boarded out flight I noticed a guy with an Auburn hat on and a girl with an Auburn sweatshirt. Being an Auburn student also I said "Hello" and continued on to my seat. A few days later my mom and I were in Tiffany's and we saw the couple again. They were smiling and holding hands and looked like they were having fun. We smiled at each other and did the whole "small world" thing and continued on our way. When I saw the facebook group dedicated to Lauren I realized that she was the nice girl from the airplane. I am shocked and saddened. My prayers are with her family and friends. The smile that she shot me as I said "War Eagle" that day on the airplane will be with me forever. May she rest in peace.
