" Hello my dear "as she would always say as I arrived ready for work in putting together the first lot of "shop away from the shops" in Cremorne , the wonderful tuna sandwich and the best cuppa with a good old chat, it was like having a big sister, Ill always remember her as being a wise old soul ,kind and loving and really in the short time of knowing her I actually felt like she had been in my life forever. My thoughts go out to John, Elliot, Jake and Harrison Leslie will be sadly missed . Roz x

I remember Leslie's warmth, enthusiasm, energy, vitality and vigour, from her appearing on the stage in the Middle Harbour PS Hall as organiser of the "Welcome to Parents" evening, which we attended as new parents in 1996, to her smiling and endlessly tireless and patient organisation of "The Shop" each year. I hope that the many wonderful and happy memories will sustain you and the support of her many great friends will be a source of comfort to you. The Vale family (Kate, Nick, Oliver, Cecily and Rosalie)

Leslie has touched so many lives through her network and I know that we all are left completely speechless with this sudden and sad news. We feel for John and the boys and recognise the anguish and heartbreak as you watch someone you love slip away and wish there was something that would help ease your pain. Leslie loved her life and her family so much, and I hope this provides some comfort at this time; she will be terribly missed by everyone she knew. Love from Karen & family

Many, many memories of Leslie over the years have been forged through, school, scouts, and the shop. Always warm and friendly, yet dynamic and vibrant. Someone who always showed drive and determination, tempered with great human warmth and a sense of humour. Leslie will be remembered with great fondness by us . Jane, John, Oliver, Tara and Felicity Clark

It has only been six or so years - and what a wonderful time. Book Club discussions, laughter, white wine, champagne and cosying up on lounges at the end of long day. Leslie's shop, her drive and enthusiasm for life. Never too busy for a cup of tea or a glass of wine and something from the pantry. Chicken dishes that are now part of my repetoire. Seeing her sons grow, being part of her life with John, the new challenges, the new house - all to be embraced with gusto and her wonderful smile and laugh. It was truly a privilege to sit with Leslie over the last few weeks, to read to her and to hold her hand. John, Elliot, Jake and Harrison There is little I can do to help you bear the pain of losing Leslie and so little I can do to help you through the day. But know I am thinking of you Anna C

Whenever I think of the first time I met my husband, I smile because it always reminds me of Leslie. I had arrived late and drenched for a lunch, having been caught in the rain on the way. Not knowing anyone well and with people engrossed in their own conversations, I remember feeling awkward until this lovely elegant girl (who as it turned out was Leslie) walked up, smiled and said hello. With her natural warmth and friendliness, she immediately put me at ease and we stayed talking and laughing until she turned and introduced me the gorgeous guy who had just joined us. As they say, the rest is history so Leslie must have been our good luck charm and her kindness to me that day was always fondly remembered. She will be sadly missed for this and the many other kindnesses she showed throughout her life. A friend xox
