My deep condolences to Debb, Belinda, Wade and Nathan. Just want to share with you the proud I have for growing and having learnt from him on different issues, I really admired him. His passion to anything he was dealing with & super sense of humor, which I have copied. Will really miss you Mark. Debb, hope to see you soon. Love from Willie and many people from Argentina!!!!

This is truly a shock to both me and my wife Lichelle. Our thoughts and prayers are with Deb's and the family. I worked with Mark for two years, as his NZ agent for Real Foods, and spent a fair amount of time travelling throughout NZ with him. I was always astounded by the fact that he knew the locations of some dark alley restaurant, that did the most amazing Spanish food. The times I spent with you in Sydney, were always a blast! Thanks for always taking me and Patrick back to our hotel via the Puma Outlet store and waiting patiently while we tried on sneakers. Mark always spoke of Deb and his family fondly, and recounted the time they spent in Italy on holiday as a highlight in his life. Family was always important for him, and too him. Mark, mentor, confidant and true friend. I called you 'Grandpa' because that's what you were to me, even though I always said to you it was because you looked 104 years old. The last time you came over for business, we had dinner and I got drunk. I met you at your hotel room the next day as planned, but spent the next 2hrs hung over, asleep on your couch while you did my homework for me. I still have that bottle of Chivas you gave me that afternoon. When ever you came to NZ, you were always my property - I picked you up from the airport at midnight, and stayed with you until I dropped you back at the airport. I am going to miss you Grandpa, but I will always think of you and smile. M.

The tragic passing of Mark Scherini is a shock to everyone who has been touched by his quick-wit, enthusiasm and passion. Mark was a part of the Geelong business community for just a few years, but he made a huge impact. He had an amazing capacity to understand the big picture. Mark’s friendship and his expertise will be greatly missed throughout the region. We offer sincerest sympathies to Mark’s wife Debbie and his family, and to his ‘extended family’ throughout the seafood industry. Geelong Food Cluster, Ambaco, ASCo, and Champions Fare.
